Use our online job search resources to connect with your next opportunity! Resumes and cover letters are marketing tools whose primary focuses are to land you an interview.

These documents are designed to demonstrate the unique skills and qualifications you can bring to the company and position. Each document has its own unique purpose. It is important for the applicant to learn how to best market themselves on each document. Bring in a hard copy to Career Express and we will provide you with feedback!

Whether or not you are currently job seeking, you can benefit from employer research to help select an ideal work environment. Let Career Services help you get started with your employer research! By networking with professionals in targeted companies or occupations of interest, opportunities are more likely to arise. Networking helps gather information to make educated decisions on majors, careers and employers. Career Services' events, social media, friends, family, and associations are great networking resources.

Preparing for an interview is a lot to do on your own, so our team is here to help! Schedule an hour-long mock interview with your Career Consultant to help you prepare in a face-to-face setting.

Students are eligible for internships based on certain prerequisite courses and a minimum GPA. See the catalog for more information. Please contact her at tdowling usf. Generally, internships are only approved if the student is working in an office environment and not from their own home or in the personal home of the employer.

You do not need to have secured an internship at this point. You can search for internship opportunities on smcinternships. Once you have secured an internship opportunity, have your sponsor complete the sponsor form and return it to Professor Whitt. At that point, your application will be reviewed and, if approved, you will receive an email with information on how to register for the course.

Credit will not be provided for past internship experiences. What are the expectations for students doing internships? Interns with concerns about their internship sponsor or the work they are assigned to do should contact Professor Whitt for assistance. Interns need to meet the minimum required hours for the number of credit hours they are receiving, which is per credit hour. Interns will need to keep a weekly journal, write a reflection paper, and create a portfolio.

Interns will also complete an evaluation of their sponsoring organization. Interns should work with their sponsor to set up start and end dates, as well as weekly hours. You are not expected to work during times when the university is closed Spring Break, etc. Students are required to read the Syllabus to fully understand the expectations of the course. USF interns are generally hard-working students who wish to gain experience in the industry.
